Clarification regarding 2025 Agricultural Land Commission decision

We are aware that some confusion has arisen regarding a decision issued by the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) on May 7, 2025.

For clarity and reassurance to our guests, there has been no disruption to our heliskiing operations, which continue as normal. Guests were welcomed during the 2025/26 season as planned, and guests continue to be welcomed as scheduled for the 2026/27 season.

The 2025 ALC decision that has caused confusion for some relates solely to the use of land owned by Skeena River Lodge. The ALC does not regulate heliskiing operations and did not issue a stop work order affecting White Wilderness Heliskiing nor Skeena River Lodge. Skeena River Lodge is currently working through the ALC approval process related to land use and has an application under review.

Heliskiing tenure, flight operations, and related permits are regulated through separate Province of British Columbia processes, with which we remain fully compliant and in good standing. Our operational management plans, approved departures, and wildlife protection measures are authorized by the applicable provincial licensing system, which is completely separate and independent from the ALC process.

Beyond regulatory compliance, the safety of our guests and staff remains our highest priority. Our operations continue to meet the highest professional and safety standards in the industry, including those established by HeliCat Canada and the Canadian Avalanche Association. Our guides hold and maintain recognized industry certifications, and our safety program meets or exceeds established best practices. Read more about our safety program here.

We encourage partners and guests to reach out with any questions.
